In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “Ode to a Playground.”
It’s no use missing anything in my childhood nor in my past because life moves in a straight line and we cannot turn back time. What I only wish is that wages would be increased so that each and every Filipino can afford a quality way of life. If they cannot increase our wages, at least they could lower the prices of basic commodities.
Another sad fact is that our population continues to grow and more and more college graduates are becoming unemployed with each passing year. They may opt to work in a call centres but this is not really a promising career. Many call centre agents quit their jobs because of exhaustion and sleep disorders. We better come up with jobs that are less stringent and less laborious; jobs that are invigorating instead of back-breaking.
I would rather work as a house helper than a call centre agent. Or I rather do administrative and clerical tasks. I don’t think I would be happy being a call centre agent with a few day offs and a lot of graveyard shifts.
